Semmelweis University is Hungary's leading medical higher education institution, unique in the country with its over 250-year tradition. Its three main activities are education, healing, and health, medical technology research, and innovation. Kinepict Ltd. started as a research start-up company at the university. Their internationally patented product is the so-called DVA – digital variance angiography – X-ray imaging software. This allows for much more detailed imaging with a lower radiation dose, and contrast agents can even be omitted. This effectively reduces the risk of angiography X-ray examinations for both the patient and the doctor. (*)
Recently, Elek Richárd defended his Ph.D. dissertation at the university on the topic of evaluating the radiation risk and image quality of Kinepict Kft.'s DVA procedure. Here, both the examination committee and the professional audience were able to convince themselves of the value of the innovative imaging technology, which the candidate presented in a high-caliber presentation. Congratulations on the successful defense!
The cooperation between Kinepict Kft. and Mediagnost Kft. has been ongoing for a long time, with both companies committed to the development of medical diagnostic devices that aid in healing. In our country, the average life expectancy at birth for women is 64.5 years, and for men, it is 62.5 years (**). One of the most important tools for increasing the number of healthy years lived (health-conscious lifestyle and prevention) is the application of modern imaging techniques. With these, diseases can be detected even before the appearance of symptoms, thus achieving complete recovery.
