Remembering Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen

Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen, the German physicist who discovered X-rays in 1895 and was the first recipient of the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1901 for his work to date, was born on March 27.

His discovery made the previously invisible world visible, thereby laying the foundation for modern diagnostic imaging, which remains indispensable in medicine today.

Röntgen's work reminds us that even a seemingly small discovery can fundamentally transform our daily lives.
